Automatic Calibration of Gas-Sentry and Gas-Ranger Detectors

The Gas-Sentry and Gas-Ranger Detectors are automatically calibrated using the appropriate calibration gas delivered from an automatic or manual calibration gas dispenser.

Automatic Calibration Gas Dispenser

Insertion of the standard probe's tip into an automatic calibration gas dispenser (Model CGD-001) connected to the appropriate tank of calibration gas and flow regulator provides:

  • Speed - two sensor calibration in about 30 seconds

  • Accuracy - requiring no manual adjustments

  • Easy-of-Use - automatic gas release with automatic shut-off when probe tip is withdrawn

  • Economy - single gas calibrates both CO and catalytic combustion sensors

Detectors can also be calibrated with a manual calibration gas dispenser which includes the appropriate tank of calibration gas and flow regulator connected to a threaded fitting. In this case the gas dispenser is manually attached to the detector's dust and water-block filter with the threaded fitting. Unlike the automatic calibration gas dispenser, there is only a manual shut-off on the calibration gas tank.

Detectors must be calibrated with the appropriate gas mixtures:

Natural Gas Detectors Methane (2.5%) and CO (100 ppm) balance air (MC-105) & Methane (100%, ME-105) or pure natural gas or helium in nitrogen (HE-105)

Propane Detectors Propane (1.05%) and CO (100 ppm) balance air (PC-105) & Propane (100%)

Combustible Gas Detectors Pentane (0.75%) and CO (100 ppm) balance air (HC-105) & Methane (100%, ME-105) or pure natural gas or helium in nitrogen (HE-105)
